Evan started Kindergarten. Excuse me for a minute while I bawl my eyes out.
How did this happen?! He was suppose to stay a baby forever and now he’s in a real-actual school with real-actual teachers. Want to hear what’s worse? He absolutely LOVED it. He was so happy on his first day. I was nervous the entire day for him – What if he feels overwhelmed? What if someone is mean to him? What if he gets exhausted and has a melt-down? And the kid just crushed it.

I kept waiting for the crash. At the beginning of 4-year-old preschool he had some issues trying to follow directions and realizing that they had more structure than the 3-year-old class. He’d come home so so tired. There was no way that kid could handle a full day of school (what happened to half-day Kindergarten like we had “in the old days”). Apparently he’s over all that and ready to pick a college and move out.
Since his school doesn’t have a supply list and I was dying to buy some, to get my fix, I made his teacher a school supply cake to wish her “Happy First Day!” I tried to stick to supplies I knew they would use. The round boxes that support everything can be used to store everything in.

So there you go. My children are all grown and I have time to craft again.
