Sharing a few homemade Easter decorations along with some spring decorating inspiration!
With the lockdown in place our dining room table became my husband’s home office. I had to set the table around him this year.
I picked up this tablecloth from TJMaxx a few years ago and I loved the colors but it was too short for our new table. So I ended up cutting in half length wise and sewing it back together end-to-end to make it into a table runner.
Our centerpiece was pretty simple, just some easter grass, hydrangea and these ceramic bunnies from Joann fabrics. I like the wood-shread grass because it feels more natural (but it does make a huge mess).
I bought some plaid fabric from Joann’s and made these simple pillow covers. The bunny applique was just a silhouette I found online.
I can’t decide if I like the plaid on white bunny or the white on plaid bunny better.
A few years ago I had Easter catered by picking up a boxed dinner from Cracker Barrel. First it was super easy because all I had to do was to heat everything. It came with these salt and pepper shakers which had a little tan flower painted on them. Since I’d never use them for their intended purpose I decide to spraypaint them and add them to these glass apothecary jars in a modern Easter basket style.
These jars have been around since our wedding and I love filling them with seasonal candy.
I made this Spring sign out of a few 1x3s and some letters I cut out of foamboard. I have to say that I enjoyed having some craft projects to keep me busy while we were in lockdown. It definitely made the world seem more normal.
While our Easter was definitely different than we planned we still celebrated at home. And thought we watched our Easter services online from home my family was willing to get dressed up and take a few pictures to mark the occasion.
I even made myself a top to match my pillows…because why not?
